Privacy notice
This notice explains how the IT team of SCOUTS South Africa's Eastern Cape South Region ("we") handles the details you give us on this website. It sits alongside the SCOUTS South Africa POPIA and privacy policy.
What we collect
- Your name, email address and mobile number
- Your SD-ID number, role, Scout group and district
- What you tell us about your project
The public pages don't use cookies or tracking, and the fonts and images come from this site, so no other company sees your visit. The IT team's admin pages use one cookie to keep team members signed in.
Why we collect it
To understand, plan and deliver your project, and to contact you about it. We ask for your SD-ID number, role, group and district to confirm you're a SCOUTS member and to see which part of the region a project serves.
Who can see it
Only members of the regional IT team, who sign in with a code sent to their email. We don't sell your information or use it for marketing. If other Scouters need to help with your project (for example your District Commissioner), we'll only share what they need.
Where it's kept
Requests are stored by Netlify, which hosts this website, in its data centre in Frankfurt, Germany. Emails about your request are sent through Resend, an email delivery service. Both protect data in line with European privacy law (GDPR).
How long we keep it
While your project is active, and for up to two years after it's finished or closed. Then we delete it. You can ask us to delete it sooner.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Reply to any email we've sent you about your request, quoting your reference number, or contact your District Commissioner. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Regulator.
Children
This site is for adults and Rovers. If you're under 18, please ask your Scouter to submit your idea for you. If a project will handle information about youth members, we plan for POPIA and Safe From Harm from the start.
